Offline Data Privacy - Your Data Stays Local

Your financial data stays on your device. That is not a feature. That is the architecture.

Privacy by Architecture

Most budgeting apps ask for your bank credentials, store your transactions on their servers, and analyze your spending patterns. They frame this as convenience. But convenience built on someone else's access to your financial data comes with trade-offs that are rarely made clear.

Offline budgeting takes a fundamentally different approach. When the application never connects to the internet, there is no server to breach, no database to leak, and no third-party analytics running in the background. Privacy is not a policy. It is a consequence of the design.

Your Data Lives on Your Machine

True North Budgeting stores all of your financial data locally on your computer. Your budget categories, transaction records, goals, and reports exist as files on your hard drive. You can see them, back them up, or delete them at any time.

There is no cloud sync, no remote backup, and no account linking. If you want to move your data to another machine, you copy the files yourself. If you want to create a backup, you save it to your own external drive or storage solution.

This approach puts you in complete control. You decide where your data goes, how long it is kept, and who, if anyone, ever sees it.

What True North Does Not Do

No Tracking

No analytics inside the application. No usage telemetry. No behavioral tracking. What you do with your budget is your business.

No Cloud Storage

Your data never leaves your device. There is no cloud database, no server-side storage, and no remote access to your financial information.

No Data Selling

We do not have your data, so we cannot sell it. There are no advertising partners, no data brokers, and no third-party access to your spending habits.

Privacy You Do Not Have to Trust

With most tools, privacy depends on a company keeping its promises. With True North, privacy depends on physics. If the data never leaves your machine, it cannot be intercepted, leaked, or misused by anyone else.

You do not have to read a privacy policy to know your data is safe. You just have to know where your computer is.

Take Control of Your Financial Privacy

True North Budgeting keeps your data where it belongs: on your device and under your control.
